The HLP series low-background lead shielding chambers are made by casting lead in one piece with low background. They offer a variety of lead materials ranging from new lead to old lead with low background for more than 50 years, corresponding to different models. The new lead is electrolytically purified and free of impurities; the old lead has been stored for at least two half-lives of Pb-210. All the lead chambers are cast in one piece professionally to avoid internal bubbling, ensuring uniform density and no weak points in shielding, and featuring high purity and low background.
